HERITAGE HUNTS

Heritage Hunts are cultural and historical tools for keeping the community at large in touch with the Past.As declared by Edmund Burke : Society is a partnership among the dead, the living and the unborn. We who are living must regularly rediscover our ancestors' local handiwork which also reveal their tangible legacy to us.
The Hunt provides the practical and immersive experience into their Story. Because it is at once educative and entertaining, it is effective in rewiring the mind to accommodate the Past as a concern and a touchstone when considering what to do with the Present going into the Future. It fulfills Burke's definition for us to look back and also look around  to go forward.
A violent break with the Past in terms of architecture, culture and tradition is the characteristic of Totalitarianism in all its forms - from political revolutions to central planning to corporatist state-ism. In holding on to what has been bequeathed to us we have a sure guide in coming to and making tough decisions. It guarantees evolution of society in a natural way.

Below are samples of how Heritage can come alive in Hunts dedicated to aspects of local History.
